"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."
Psalm 9:9
Our mission is to provide resources through each of our four areas of ministry to those individuals and families within our local area who need assistance with the basic items of life. We serve the northern and western part of Liberty County and are governed by a nine-member board of directors. As a local community and faith-based organization we are funded by the generous donations of individuals, churches, business owners and the proceeds from the thrift shop and Nana’s Attic. As a 501 ©(3) non-profit we furnish tax deduction letters for donations. ORI was honored by the Better Business Bureau in 2011 with the Market place Trust award, given to the top non-profit among eight counties.
We were most grateful for this honor.
Our four areas of service include a 3,000 sq. ft. food pantry located on the north side of Cleveland at 1625 N. Blair, which was constructed debt-free in 2004. The thrift shop and recycling center is in the center of town, located at 904 E. Houston and occupies a city block.
Donations can be dropped off from Monday through Saturday.
It is also the home for our newest venture, Nana’s Attic. This shop is located at the purple door on the side of the building, where time stands still and beautiful treasures are in every corner. Lastly, we hold the license from the FCC for our low-power FM radio station, 95.3 FM. The station covers a ten-mile radius around Cleveland.

OUR SERVICES
Food Pantry
The food pantry is open four days a week, fifty weeks of the year. We close the last two weeks of the year to provide our volunteers time with their families.
Those needing assistance can come once a month for food and once a year for financial assistance with utilities. In addition, we provide children with four toys each at Christmas. The back of the pantry resembles Santa’s warehouse in December as the volunteers sort the toys and bag them for the children.

KORG Radio
The call letters for our KORG radio station (which stands for Operation Refuge Gives) 95.3 FM is broadcast twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week with an “Oldies” format. Local churches provide devotionals and church services. The board hired a director and the station provides local information, coverage of local activities at schools including football games. Grants from local business provide additional income as they underwrite many of the activities in the surrounding area. The station has been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as business of the month.
Nana's Attic
Nana’s Attic was the dream of our founder and found its home in a corner of the warehouse on the side of thrift shop. It is filled with antiques, collectibles, and memorabilia from many different genres. Nana’s attic has its own entrance through the purple door and is completely separate from the thrift shop. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 – 5:00.
